DESIGN PROPOSAL
Harnessing wave energy has lagged in development almost three-decades behind the progression of wind generated-energy today. Wave turbines have, therefore, unsuccessfully filled the void for a way to convert mechanical energy of waves into a significant amount of electrical energy. My proposal is to allow this conversion in energy through graphene. The energy generated and stored within the main module can capture solar and wave energy collectively. The shell of the device can be built inland, so start-up costs are much lower compared to offshore wind-turbines.

CONT-
As technological advancements continue, graphene manufacturing is becoming more accessible. It is likely the ‘window of opportunity’ is at its birth stages, meaning just like the dawn of the ‘plastic age’, graphene applications will become cheaper and more accessible very soon. Every few months, it seems like a new method of synthesizing graphene is developed, dropping manufacturing price. Graphene production has gone from 12 tonnes (2009) to 390 tonnes (2018) meaning new opportunities are opening for my product.
